The Benefits of Purchasing Highly Recommend Affiliate Tracking Software

by Otello Zorina

If are an online business owner, it is likely that you have given an affiliate program some thought. Affiliate programs, if they are properly run, can help to increase the number of sales your business makes. When it comes to starting an affiliate program, there is one thing that many business owners do not think about. That is affiliate tracking software.

Affiliate tracking software is important and vital to the successful operation of an affiliate program. Affiliate tracking software will enable you, the business owner, to know when one of your affiliates helped to generate a sale. In addition to knowing when that sale was generated, the proper tracking software will also enable you to know who helped to generate each sale. This is important, especially when it comes to rewarding your affiliates for their hard work. Since this software is so important, you will want to obtain it as soon as you decide to start your own affiliate program.

When it comes to finding affiliate tracking software, you will find that you literally have an unlimited number of options. There are a large number of individuals and companies that have developed software programs that are designed to assist business owners, like yourself. While it is nice to have a large number of choices, you may find that these choices make it difficult to choose a particular software program. Instead of choosing the first software program or service that you come across, you are advised to familiarize yourself with ones that come highly recommended.

To find affiliate tracking software, that comes highly recommend, you are advised to perform a standard internet search. That search should include the words affiliate tracking software reviews. Your search should direct you to websites in which a number of software programs have been reviewed. In most cases, these reviews are written by other business owners, namely ones that have used the program before. You are advised to take these reviews into consideration because there are a number of benefits to doing so.

Perhaps, the greatest benefit of purchasing highly recommend affiliate tracking software is that you will know what you will be getting. When an individual is unsatisfied with a product or service they purchased, they will most likely leave a negative review. If a negative review was not left, it is likely that no review was recorded. This is because most people do not want other individuals to fall victim to a poor performing product or service. In most cases, a product will not be recommended unless it meets or beats standards. This means that if you find affiliate tracking software recommendations, most are truly genuine and the sign of a well performing software program.

Another benefit to purchasing highly recommend affiliate tracking software is that you will be able to seek assistance if and when you need it. Most software providers will offer customer service support, but you may want additional help. If a software program or services comes highly recommended, it is likely that a number of business owners are still using the service. If you are able to connect with those business owners, you may be able to learn helpful tips, tricks, and techniques to make the most out of your affiliate tracking software.

The above mentioned benefits are just a few of the many. Even if these benefits were not able to offer you assistance, it is still advised that you purchase highly recommended affiliate tracking software. There is just something nice about purchasing a product with a positive feedback.

Why You Should Use Google Analytics On Your Web Site

by Dr. Deepak Dutta

Google offers a free statistical tool to analyze your website visitors. It is called Google Analytics. It is very easy to use. Once you sign up with the service and add the URL of your website, you get a snippet of Java Script code that you add onto every web page you want to track.

Google Analytics tracks visitors from all sources, including display ad campaigns, PPC (pay per click) campaigns, organic searches from search engines, email marketing, bookmarks, websites that have your inbound links, and other digital sources like URLs embedded in PDF files or Power Point slides. It designed for online marketers who want to track visitors to their sites for improving user experience and conversions.

Why do you want to use Google Analytics? There are several reasons for that.

You want to know if your marketing campaign is going in the right direction or not. For example, if you are doing article marketing to drive traffic to your site, you want to know the article directories that are the most effective in sending visitors to your website.

You don't want to waste your time submitting articles to directories that are not sending you any traffic or a very low amount of traffic. You can write more articles and submit to only those directories that are sending you a good amount of traffic.

If you are using a pay per click (PPC) marketing campaign, you should use split testing to test the effectiveness of different ads. You want to know which ads are performing better than the others in terms of conversions. If you integrate Google Analytics with your AdWords PPC campaigns, you will be able to track the effectiveness of each ad you are using in your PPC campaigns.

Using data from Google Analytics, you will be able to find the pages that are getting the most traffic from search engines, bookmarks and inbound links. Knowing this information helps you spend time on optimizing only those pages that are getting the most traffic.

You can work on providing improved user experience of your site on those high traffic pages. Make it easy to navigate those pages from anywhere in your site. Place a "What is new" about your site on those pages.

If you're selling ads on your site to advertisers directly, you need a visitors portfolio of your site. This portfolio contains information about the number of monthly unique visitors to your site, visitors' geographic locations, the number of page views per visitor, the bounce rate of visitors, etc.

The more information about your visitors you can provide to your prospecting advertisers, the better is your chance of commanding a premium price for advertisement spots on your site. Google Analytics will help you develop a visitors portfolio of your site.

Even if you are not going to use visitors data immediately, you can still sign up for Google Analytics and let the tool start collecting visitors data about your site. When you need those data, you will have them in your Google Analytics account.

How to Create a Capture Page that Turns Visitors into Leads

by Aaron Chen

Capture pages are common in the online marketing industry although some may not be aware of their actual usefulness and critical importance to a newly established home business. Also called "squeeze pages", these Internet marketing tools are used primarily to collect information about prospective customers - their email addresses and basic data such as first name and last name, phone number, etc. This set of information becomes the marketer's window to his vast market.

But soliciting such personal information from total strangers is easier said than done. You have to design a good squeeze page to capture the attention and interest of visitors for them to trust you with their personal information that you need for your business. Since capture pages are about prospecting and mining for information, they must be developed in such a way that the prospect will feel comfortable giving out their personal information.

When a network marketing newbie has no idea how to create a capture page that converts visitors into leads, his prospecting pages turn into email messages sloppily put together without powerful ad copy that gets people interested in an offer. Here are a few tips on how you can design an effective capture page:

1) Use a mix of compelling sales points with powerful psychological triggers.

Most people who create a sales page miss either one or both of these elements. Writing a compelling copy is understandably difficult for beginners so it is best that you first enroll in a copy writing course or hire someone with the necessary experience to help you out.

A capture page with compelling sales points and powerful psychological triggers is one that does not immediately badger prospects into buying. Instead, it promises valuable benefits in exchange for information. It also tries to be brief and avoids taxing the patience of the visitors. Finally, it assures the prospects that the personal information they provide will not be shared with anyone.

2) Concentrate on building enthusiasm with a little bit of hype.

The capture pages should be designed to arouse people's curiosity. One way of doing that is by putting a wealth of information on the page to give the impression that you really know your business. Make sure to clearly explain what solution you are providing and for whom you are providing it for. If you don't present a specific problem that you will resolve, you are not going to convert traffic into leads. It also helps if you create a sense of urgency for the prospect to decide and act posthaste. This call to action will not only raise the value of your offer but also directs the prospect on what to do.

3) Squeeze in such psychological triggers, such as "Proven to Work", "Revealed", and "Insider Secrets".

These buzz words will compel your visitors to continue reading your copy, and will in the process, raise the perceived value of your offer.

4) Ensure a smooth flow of your lead capture page.

If the copy looks amateurish and it doesn't slowly move forward, you won't break down your visitor's resistance to the sale or opting in to become a lead. The capture page does not need to be long since in online marketing, less is often more. You will ensure the smooth flow of your capture page if you condense it in one paragraph citing the benefits of your offer. This technique is expected to boost your opt-in rates.

5) Personalize your copy by using your name, location, picture or video of yourself throughout your page.

This not only builds credibility but also lets people know that there is a real person behind the offer they are reading on the website. You can even put your phone number and name in your privacy policy to help build your credibility and convince visitors you're not out to spam them or sell the information they provide you to spammers.

Of course there are also ways to get capture pages that are designed by professionals in the business. As a newbie to this industry, I would recommend using this route as it will save you a lot of pain and time.

Search Engine Marketing Increases Your Website's Exposure

by Julie Ann Ross

Search engine marketing (SEM) is a fundamental strategy that improves a website's visibility in major search engines. It does so on multiple fronts, using both organic and paid optimization techniques to drive targeted traffic to your site. Without keyword research and honing in on your target market, your site may get many worthless visits as consumers are led to your site even though it does not offer what they are searching for. Without search engine marketing, a business website could easily become a veritable billboard in the desert. Regardless of its design or aesthetic appeal, few people would see it.

You can use SEM techniques to sharply increase your company's exposure within your market. The strategy is complex and must be deployed carefully to generate lasting results. When combined with SEO and social media optimization (SMO), search engine marketing represents a cost-effective way to reach your audience, drive them to your site, and convert them into loyal customers.

Organic Rankings Through Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) focuses primarily on lifting your web pages to the top organic listings for your chosen keywords. By using both on-site and off-site optimization techniques, you can gradually improve your position for the phrases your audience uses. SEO is an important cog in your search engine marketing campaign. By appearing higher in the organic listings, your website will attract a larger volume of targeted visitors.

There are many areas within SEO that you can focus upon in order to gain higher rankings and enjoy better exposure. For example, local search emphasizes ranking for keywords with a geo-specific rider. The key is to integrate your optimization tactics within the broader scope of your SEM campaign.

The Role Of PPC In Search Engine Marketing

Pay per click (PPC) advertising is another critical component of search engine marketing. While SEO focuses on ranking your website within the search engines' organic listings, PPC does so in the sponsored listings. By bidding on optimal keywords, you can show your ad to only the most targeted audience.

One of the advantages of pay per click advertising over search engine optimization is that it can drive traffic to your website immediately. By contrast, SEO takes time. High organic rankings will deliver powerful results, but those rankings are achieved gradually. While your SEO campaign is gaining momentum, your PPC campaign can begin driving a positive ROI almost instantly.

Search Engine Marketing: Paying For Inclusion

In many industries, search engine marketing should also include paying for inclusion in relevant directories. This is especially true in competitive spaces where PPC bids are outrageously high and top organic rankings are controlled by authoritative sites. By paying for inclusion in directories that enjoy high traffic and top organic listings, you can further increase your company's exposure.

Not all directories are created equal. Some enjoy more traffic and authoritative ranking power than others. A search engine marketing specialist will be able to find the appropriate directories for your particular industry.

Social Media Marketing: Reaching The Influencers

Social media optimization is not technically a part of search engine marketing, but it is a potent strategy for reaching your audience and building your company's brand. The strategy leverages communities and the people who influence them. Websites such as Facebook and Twitter have become phenomenal traffic magnets because they encourage interaction among their users. Each person is part of an interactive social network. By using social media marketing tactics, you can reach the influencers within those networks to generate traffic, publicity, and sales.

Tracking Your Search Engine Marketing Results

The results of your search engine marketing efforts are measurable. Your website's positions in the organic listings for your main keywords can be easily evaluated. The positions of your Pay Per Click ads can be gauged. The traffic volume those positions drive to your site can be tracked. On-site conversions can be calculated based on the keywords your visitors used to find you. This is the core advantage of search engine marketing. You can use an analytics package to track your data and calculate an ROI.

There has never been a better time to explore the power of a honed search engine marketing campaign. It can improve the exposure of your website and drive targeted traffic to it. By using a multi-pronged approach that simultaneously leverages both organic and paid listings, search engine marketing can expand your sales and your customer base.

Making Business Easier With Autoresponders

by Otello Zorina

In the online world of business, an autoresponder can do a lot for your company. Also referred to as mailbots, email and on demand, and automatic email, these tools can help you put your business on autopilot and spend more time doing other things. Autoresponders are great to have, as they are designed to automatically respond to any email they receive with an instant response.

Over the years, autoresponders have increased quite a bit in popularity. They are best known for their automatic email responses, which will save you a lot of time. By using one of these programs, you won't have to spend countless hours answering emails again. You can feel free to do other things and always know that your customers have access to the information they need anytime they want it.

To set your business on autopilot, all you need to do is get your copy ready and load it into your autoresponder. Once a potential buyer or current customer sends your autoresponder address a message, the information he or she is seeking will automatically be delivered to them. Autoresponders are very quick - delivering information via email in a matter of seconds.

Autoresponders can also help you send out free courses, articles and information, reports, information regarding your products and services, price lists, welcome and thank you letters, confirm orders, and tell others about your advertising rates. You can preset information such as this into your autoresponder, so it will automatically send the information out whenever someone requests it.

Unlike mass email messages, autoresponders can be set up to your specifications. You can send personalized messages with them as well, which will make your client feel as if the email was made specifically for him. Autoresponders will also follow up with emails as well, to ensure that you get a sale. The better autoresponders out there will notify you each and every time someone has requested your information, so you know when you have potential customers.

You can also update your autoresponder messages anytime you wish. From time to time as you get new products or information to send to your clients, you can update your log. When running a business, it's very important that you keep your customers up to date. This way, your customers will know that you have new products available and ready for purchase. If you have a good relationship with them, they will be anticipating your new offers.

If you run a business over the Internet, an autoresponder can make life a lot easier. You can let your autoresponder handle a majority of the tasks, including technical support and sending out information about your company and your products. These days, autoresponders are the best tools for online business - as they give you plenty of free time for other things.

Writing Effective Content for Your Website

by Jim Degerstrom

Website owners who offer a product or service have 5 seconds to capture the attention of site visitors. If you do not write effective website content to quickly communicate the benefits of what you do, your audience will bounce to the next website in their search results. This bounce rate is the opposite of stickiness. Is your website sticky? These tips on writing effective content for your website can certainly help.

Content needs to describe as much as possible about who, what, where, when, and why on every page with very specific key words and phrases to connect instantly with site visitors including search engines. Avoid technical terms in your website content writing that only those close to your industry understand.

Key word research is the best way to understand what people really put in the Google search box looking for your product or service. Guess when writing content for your website and your competition may have the edge capturing site visitor attention and converting them to buying customers.

Those key words should be inserted in website content in addition to each page title, description, key word list, and page headlines or subheadings, also. Including photographs or graphics will help convey the message beyond text, so a gallery or showcase can help quickly communicate website content details and create a more positive first impression.

When you use quality photographs to insert in pages, those pictures tell what 1000 words cannot. Your message when writing effective website content needs to be communicated based on real world website visitor behavior. People land anonymously on a website unlike visitors met face to face, so the decisions are different than walking into a brick and mortar business.

People instantly notice graphics and the overall professional look, and then scan headlines and perhaps a few words in the first sentence of website content in each paragraph. The majority will rarely read your text verbatim. Headlines, bullet lists, and graphics attract attention more than narrative, and that critical first impression is what will get them to stay and perhaps buy after they explore details later.

It's important to touch a nerve in the first 5 seconds to convince people to stay on your website. All they care about learning from your website text content is "What's in it for me if I buy here?". Initially, site visitors don't care about the details of features until they are convinced of the benefits, and that message needs to be presented in shorts bits that can be understood instantly.

The strategy for writing marketing material content for consumers is different on the internet, and similar to listening to a joke or reading a novel, people want to know the punchline or ending up front.

Rather than writing website text content that presents your introduction, features, and then benefits in that order like a regular marketing or sales pitch, writing for the web is more effective when you reveal the benefits and outcome first. This writing strategy for online marketing emphasizes the importance of catchy headlines that capture and hold interest quickly.

People will skip over paragraphs on your website that have more than 2-3 sentences, so write content and then edit to eliminate poetic or flowery speech and any unnecessary adjectives. By all means, do not exaggerate.

Keep in mind people go online for one thing: information. Website visitors rarely will buy on the first visit. Most will visit several websites searching for the right mix of content that best answers "What's in it for me?". Present benefits in the introduction, and you can still use the formula of introduction, features, and benefits to enhance your skills for writing effective website content.

Site owners who track visitor statistics probably notice the bounce rate mentioned earlier. The majority of visitors land on a page and leave immediately without fully exploring your site. Stating the benefits twice on each page will strengthen your marketing message. Maintaining a consistent message on every page can result in more business by writing effective content for your website.

Pay Per Click Marketing For Your Home Based Business Ideas

by William Drapcho

PPC marketing is the most popular method of advertisement employed by various websites on the Internet. PPC may often be referred to as pay for position, cost per click or pay for performance. But regardless of the term used, PPC marketing is the online advertiser's medium of choice for promoting home based business ideas to online consumers.

PPC is beneficial to both the advertiser and the consumer. Advertisers using PPC only need to pay for the actual click throughs linked to their sites from search engines. At the same time as consumers are relieved of having to get annoying emails or pop-up ads for products and services.

When an online consumer searches for a specific product or service on the Internet, corresponding PPC ads are also displayed alongside the results generated by the search engine. This forms a highly targeted consumer group that is more likely to purchase a specific product or service. In addition, websites get to limit their advertisement costs with the use of Pay Per Click. It is truly a winning solution for both parties.

Possible drawbacks of PPC marketing

Despite the obvious advantages, there are possible drawbacks that can cancel out its benefits. One of the most common problems is the inexperience of many people attempting to use this profitable advertisement method. Simply submitting pay per click ads to a search engine such as google, does not make up the entire campaign.

Pay per click requires a calculated and systematic approach to setting up ads. It also involves the use of keywords and biddings in order to get top placement on a search engine. Getting top search engine placement helps boost traffic to a website that can easily translate into profit.

Without the necessary experience and knowledge to carry out a typical pay per click marketing ad, may turn into an expensive campaign that does not convert into profit. PPC ads also require continuous funding, as discontinued payments will also result in discontinued ads. This can be unfavorable for a website that has already built high rankings with their ads.

Bidding on keywords can also be quite costly, as the growing number of websites on the web struggle against each other to bid on the most popular keyword for their pay per click ad. Obviously small business websites are at a disadvantage here since big business websites are able to pay more for popular keywords related to their site. This is because most small businesses only set aside a small portion of their capital for advertisement, putting them at a disadvantage.

Running an effective PPC marketing campaign

There are a number of things that a website should consider when running an effective campaign. It is important to develop a marketing plan around your home based business ideas in order to get the most return on investment from this type of marketing. Selecting the most appropriate keywords that relate to the site's business is essential.

However, simply choosing the most popular keywords does not necessarily translate into profit. Selecting more specific keywords that will put a site within the first ten results of a search also gets greater awareness from online consumers. In addition, it doesn't cost as much as getting the top spot.

It is also important that a website constantly monitors the performance of their campaign. This will help the site modify any existing ad to make it more productive. At the same time any ad that has not proven effective can be immediately discontinued. Altering ads is a continuous process that many websites do in order to increase their return on investment.

Getting professional help with PPC marketing

The popularity of pay per click has given rise to professionals offering marketing services for small and big home based business ideas. Hiring a professional company is advisable for a small business without experience in this area. Most companies offer reasonable rates for their services and at the same time produce acceptable results.

A marketing professional can attend to all the details commonly involved in a campaign. Handling a marketing campaign is a time consuming process that can be overwhelming for a small business. A PPC professional can help set up a campaign and later on train someone from within the business to handle it to ensure its continued success.

How to Find Affiliate Tracking Software

by Otello Zorina

To make money, many online business owners are making the decision to create their own affiliate program. An affiliate program connects business owners with website publishers, who are often referred to as affiliates. With an affiliate program, an affiliate is compensated each time they use their website to generate a sale for their affiliate partner, the business in question. This partnership has helped to increase the revenue of many businesses and it can do the same for your business.

If you are interested in starting your own affiliate program, there is something important that you will need to obtain. That item is affiliate tracking software. Affiliate tracking software is used to monitor and keep track of businesses affiliates, whether there is only one participating affiliate or thousands of them. The information that a tracking software program will record outlines how each customer made its way to your website. If they were directed to your online store or website and made a purchase via one of your affiliates, the tracking software will make note of that sale, including the amount of it. This information is vital when it comes to time to pay your affiliates all of the money they have earned.

If you have decided that an affiliate program is right for you and your business, you will have to start searching for a software program. There are a number of different search methods that you can use. All of these methods should provide you with a number of results. However, for the best results, you are encouraged to try a combination of these methods. These popular search methods include, standard internet searching, online affiliate resource guides, and recommendations from other business owners.

A standard internet search is, perhaps, the best way to find affiliate tracking software. This is because almost all of the individuals and companies selling this software have an online website. Those online websites will come up in most standard internet searches, performed with the words affiliate tracking software. When examining these websites, you are not only urged to examine the price of the software, but also the features that it has. This is extremely important; you do not want to pay a large amount of money for a software program that you cannot use.

In addition to performing a standard internet search, you can also obtain information on affiliate tracking software by finding an online website or resource guide that is designed to assist business owners, like yourself. These resource guides often give you inside information on the world of affiliate marketing. In addition to valuable tips and helpful information, many of these online websites and resource guides give detailed information, including product reviews, on a number of different affiliate tracking software programs. By examining these reviews, you should be able to find a number of software programs.

It may also be a good idea to seek software recommendations for other business owners, especially ones that run their own affiliate program. Not all, but a number of these business owners would be more than willing to assist you anyway that they can. Obtaining feedback is important because many business owners may not only be able to provide you with positive feedback, but negative feedback as well. If you do not feel comfortable outright asking another business owner for help, you can find that help online. Similar to the above mentioned online resource guides, there are also online message boards designed for business owners participating in affiliate programs. By finding and visiting these message boards, you should be able to learn about numerous affiliate tracking software programs.

As previously mentioned, it is recommended that you use a number of the above mentioned search methods. The more research you do, to find an affiliate tracking software, the more results you will be presented with. A large number of results is helpful when looking for the affiliate tracking software program that best fits your needs.

Split Testing and Website Maintenance

by Ajay Prasad

Pay per click advertisers often advocate split testing. Split testing help improve conversion rate and hence increase website sales. No one is at 100% conversion rate online, so there is always a room for improvement and that is where split testing comes in.

Split testing is a method for testing two versions of a web page including audio, video and text. The goal is to test multiple versions of the web pages, i.e. product/service page, landing page, FAQ etc. to determine which version is more effective and appealing to the customers. Significant improvements can be noticed through testing different copy texts, form placements, landing page images and background color.

Split Test your website home page copy. Try changing the headline, sub-headline, first paragraph and the last paragraph of your home page. Use two different landing page URLs on two advertisements and see which one generates more conversions.

Be sure to include sales letters that includes benefits and testimonials. Others who have already purchased products or services can brag on you much better than yourself.

Split testing involves sending visitor traffic to one of two web pages. One page normally acts as the reference design and the other page will have one change made to it , compared to the reference.

The splitting of traffic is also done with a split testing script that also tracks what page each visitor is presented with. The results of action on each landing page design are compared and the page with the greatest increase in conversion rate can be determined. The action could be of sales, completion of a form, ad or the landing page design.

Split testing allows you to test components of your emails, identify combinations of content that get the best results and reuse winning components in other campaigns. Test different subject lines, text, links and images for better result.

When you have just one ad out there, it is difficult to say that's working. Creating another page or ad that is very similar to the previous one with a minor change may give you further information. If your current ad includes an offer for a 20% discount at the bottom of the box, create another ad that puts that offer at the top. From there, you could track which ad receives a better response and drives more traffic and sales.

In a pay per click campaign, run your ads for about 30 seconds each. Keep a spreadsheet that shows the click through rate you get for each one. That gives you enough of a sample to be able to tell what is working and what's not. The longer you keep up this process, the more you will be keyed in to the features that best attract customers. Repeating the entire process will lead to more clicks and more sales.

Any web maintenance service is worth it if you keep your visitors coming back to become your leads and then buy your service or product. The longer they stay on your site, the more likely you will get a sale with a favorable conversion rate of 1 sale per 4 unique visitors. As part of maintenance work, you must check your website frequently to find any link glitches, headlines needing keyword optimization and sales letter that don't hook and sell your audience.

Know you can optimize every unique marketing message by changing the testimonials every week or month. Every time, you change something in your site, your visitors notice that and return with a bang.

Split testing provides a reliable and scientifically based approach for understanding customer's preferences and optimizing website accordingly.

How to Choose an Affiliate Program?

by jeffrey dibble

If you are an affiliate marketer, you have two options. The first option is to choose the product which has a great demand in the market. These items are expected to be sold immediately due to the interest of the people. Some examples of such particular items are dating sites, make money online, casino sites and weight loss products. The second option is to choose a product that suits your interests and you, yourself like to promote it.

We recommend you choose a product which is considered to be the hot product in the market as well as you having some interest in it. For example if you are in tennis, then you should choose tennis products to promote. These products are among the hottest products on the market. Plus if you are a tennis player, it will be easy for you to give detailed information about it on your website. So you can give lots of information there, you can write the basic rules about that sport, you can also write the tips about how new tennis players can improve their playing skills.

You can also give some guidance to anyone who may want to purchase tennis equipment by suggesting the best place to go for good quality equipment. Similarly, you can give lots of tennis related information on your website that may attract more visitors.

Let us look at some of the important things before promoting ANY affiliate program

Choose Hot Products

Always choose the items which have a high demand in the market. If you want to choose a product but don't know about the demand of that product, then visit Overture.com. Here you can check the bidding status of a product. If you find that many sellers are bidding for it, then it means it is a demanding product.

Choose High Priced Products

After you choose items which are high demand, you need to look in the market if it is a high priced product to promote. Since you are going to promote a affiliate program with all your marketing resources, why not choose a high priced and in demand product to promote?

For those who started out in affiliate products, they are normally not confidence in what they do... so they normally promote products that meet their confidence level.

This mean they normally promote products that are selling $50.00 to $77.00. That itself is not bad but you need to make a lot of sales to make some small amount of money.

Why not promote product that sells more than $100.00? Yes, $100.00. You need to start promoting products that are selling more than $100.00.

Using Social Networking Websites to Promote Your Business

by Otello Zorina

The goal of most business owners is to make money. This often results with the selling of a particular product or service. However, to sell that product or service business owners need to alert the general public. Customer cannot buy a product or a service if they do not know that it exists. That is why, as a business owner, you need to advertise your business.

When it comes to advertising there are many business owners who literally cringe. Are you doing this now? There is a good chance that you are because many advertising methods cost money. As a business owner you want to make money not spend it, right? Unfortunately, if you believe that all forms of advertising take money, you are sadly mistaken. Although you may have to spend money to make your business what you want it to be, there are ways to promote your business and the products or services that you sell without having to spend any money at all.

Is your curiosity peaked yet? There is a good chance that it is, rightfully so. One of the ways that you can promote your online business, without having to spend a dime, is by using something that is readily available online. That thing is an online social networking website. A large number of internet users, in fact millions of them, belong to at least one social networking website.

When it comes to social networking, there are many individuals who think of online friendships or online relationships. While these types of relationships are the most common, did you know that social networking is also used for businesses? In fact, that was originally how social networking got started. If you are a small business owner, especially one that operates an online business, there is a way that you can use social networking sites to your advantage.

Although social networking websites are traditionally focused on those that would like to make online friends or develop online relationships, there are networking sites that are designed for business owners. These websites will not only allow you to share your business information with other business owners, but it will also allow you to develop close relationships with those that share an interest that is similar to yours. Essentially, this means that you could not only learn valuable business information, but you could also walk away with a new business partner or a new friend.

As previously mentioned, social networking websites with a focus on businesses, are a great way to promote your business. However, this does not mean that you should completely forget about the other online social networking websites, the ones that are designed to make online friendships. Although you may not learn any valuable business tips by joining Yahoo! 360 or MySpace, you may be able to get new customers and new customers is exactly what your business should want and need.

If you are looking to join an online community, you will need to create your own profile or profile page. If you are planning on joining a traditional social networking website, to gain access to millions of potential new customers, you are urged to be careful when making your online webpage or profile. One thing that internet users hate is being solicited for business. This does not mean that you cannot use social networking to your advantage; it just means that you need to be careful with how you do it. Instead of creating a MySpace page or a Yahoo! 360 page for your business, you are advised to make one for yourself, but, of course, you will want to include information on your business.

By joining a social networking website, especially one that is popular and has a large number of members, you should be able to generate interest in your business, including the products or services that you sell. Who knows, but that interest generated could turn into sales; thus making your social networking experience more than worth it.

7 Website Statistics You Should Track

by Arwen Taylor

The majority of bloggers track how many people visit their blog each day which is a nice number to know if you are only interested in the quantity of traffic your blog gets. For those of you interested in improving the quality of traffic that comes to your blog, here are seven stats you should be keeping an eye on.

Referrals

Your link referral stats will show you how visitors found your website. When someone clicks on your link from another site, such as a search engine, a good traffic stat program will log the URL of the website your visitor came from.

With this stat you can see who's linking to your website. If the visitor came from a search engine such as Yahoo or Google, the referral will also log what keywords the person typed in which will help you in your search engine marketing.

You can also catch copyright thieves simply by including links to other pages on your website in your articles. Most content thieves are too lazy to strip out links in the articles they steal so you should investigate any referral links you do not recognize to make sure no one is using your material without your permission.

Returning Visitors

Getting a lot of traffic is great but how many people return for more of your content? Your returning visitor stat will give you an idea of the true size of your audience. It is normal for this number to fluctuate slightly during the life of your website but you should take note of any sharp declines as this typically signals a problem.

Bounce Rate

The bounce rate is a measurement of how many people visit your blog and leave without visiting any other pages on the site. While there is no industry standard for this rate, it goes without saying that the lower the better. If your bounce rate is particularly high that means there is a problem. That problem can be a design issue (broken or missing links) or a content issue (people are just not interested in what you are writing about).

Visit Length

Along the same vein as the bounce rate, how long are people hanging around your site? It's great if you are getting 1000 hits a day but all that traffic is really not doing you any good if people are only hanging around for 10 seconds or less.

In addition to writing interesting content be sure to link to other content in your blog to tempt visitors to stay around a bit longer.

Pages Visited

Most stat programs will track where people are going on your website and list the most visited pages. This is good to know because if you are getting a fair amount of traffic on a particular article you can increase traffic by expanding on the topic.

Exit Links

Some stat programs will track what links people are clicking to leave your site. This can help you help you keep track of whether or not the ads you have set up are in an effective place.

Screen Resolution

This is more for design considerations than anything else. If most of your visitors are using a 1024 x 768 size screen and your website is designed for an 800 x 600 size screen, you can think about redesigning for the higher resolution and using that extra space. This also works in reverse. If most people are using a smaller screen, you can redesign the site so that the visitors are getting the full experience of your website.

While knowing how many people are visiting your site is important, knowing what they are doing once they get there will go a long way in helping you manage and market your blog effectively.

Autoresponders and Shopping Cart Integration

by Otello Zorina

When people place orders through your website, it is always a good idea to immediately acknowledge the purchase. One way to do this is with the use of an autoresponder that can be integrated with your shopping cart. In fact, many shopping carts that are available today have their own autoresponders built into the system.

When you set up your autoresponder to send a message to someone that has placed an order, there are several things that should be included in the message. This is an opportunity to 'speak' to your customer, and to let them know about other deals that you have or special items that you have available. You should not miss this opportunity.

Do not try to get your 'thank you' sales message on the same autoresponder as the customers email receipt. Putting the sales message on an email that is automatically sent to grant the customer access to their purchase is also a bad idea - that would go better with the receipt. Make sure your 'thank you' sales message is a message that is sent out all by itself, so your customer can focus solely on that!

Thank the customer for their recent purchase. Tell them how much their purchase will help them, and then tell them about other available products that work well with the one that they just purchased, or that are similar to the one that they just purchased in some way. For instance hair conditioner works with hair shampoo. Vacuum cleaner bags or carpet powder works well with vacuum cleaners. Just let them know about the various products that you offer that will compliment their purchase in some way.

The important thing is to not let your customer get away without further contact! Think about being in a brick and mortar store. When you go up to the counter to pay, there are many items there for sale. These items are meant to be picked up as last minute purchases, or impulsive purchases. Your 'thank you' sales letter serves the same purpose.

Don't make the mistake of bombarding your customer! You can usually send them periodic information about your specials after they have made a purchase through you, but emailing them on a daily basis with your offers is not good business! Use your autoresponder responsibly! Make sure that your autoresponder is set up to handle automatic remove requests, and make sure that the information that you are sending your customers is of value to them.

Article Marketing: 13 Tips For Making The Perfect Resource Box

by Steve ShawA resource box is basically an author bio that accompanies your article. Whenever your article is republished, that resource box will also be republished.

The resource box is extremely important because it contains a link to your website (this is how submitting articles builds links), and it's your chance to try to lure the reader back to your website. It also helps you gain the confidence of your reader by sharing some info about yourself that shows them why they should take your article/advice/teaching seriously.

When you're writing resource boxes, it helps to have a little formula to follow:

1. You can just launch into your bio--there is no need to start out by saying "About The Author" or anything like that.

2. Include your name and a brief bio that would let the reader know why you are qualified to provide them information on your topic.

3. Write in full sentences--don't just put your keywords or a website link.

4. Include the fully qualified URL for your website.

A fully qualified URL starts out with 'http'. If you're not sure what this would look like, go to the main page of your website and just copy the URL that is listed in the address bar. That is your fully qualified URL. Of course if you're using a HTML resource box, you can hyperlink your keywords. Even with a HTML resource box, it's a good idea to include a written out URL.

5. Give the reader an incentive for clicking the link--why should the go back to your website?

6. Keep your author bio 450 characters or less.

7. Customize your author bio to suit your article.

The first sentence of your resource box can be a transition from your article to your bio. By linking the specific topic of your article to your resource box, you invite readers to keep on reading and hold their interest longer, which maximizes click-throughs to your website.

8. Use a single link.

This is not a rule with publishers--most will allow you to link to multiple sites (although many publishers do limit the number of links). But linking to only one site increases the chances of the reader clicking the link--the more choices you offer the reader, the less likely that they will click any of the links.

Also, you have a limited amount of space to convince a reader to click through to your site, so it helps to spend all of your effort to directing the reader to do one action--click the link.

9. Be sure your links work.

This may sound obvious, but it is very important to test your links. You can test your links by previewing your article and just clicking the links--if they take you to your website, then they are working.

Don't try to italicize or bold the URL--that can mess up the link and make it not work.

11. Do not put punctuation directly after the URL--there is no need to put punctuation after a URL as it can mess up the formatting and cause the link to break.

12. Try putting your website address on a new line.

This helps bring attention to the link, and it also helps the formatting to stay in tact and the link not to be broken.

13. Keep your URL to 60 characters or less (when using a text resource box).

The reason for this is that longer website address have more chance of being broken due to page width of publishers. Most publishers prefer to receive articles that are 60 characters per line, so having a link that is bigger than that can result in the link breaking. If you would like to link to an inner page on your website (and inner pages tend to have longer URLs), then you might save that link for a HTML resource box.

In the HTML resource box you can use anchor text to form the link, so the URL length doesn't matter. For a text resource box, you could link to the main web page of your site.

I know it's tempting to make up an author bio on the fly as you're rushing to get the article submitted, but the resource box is such an important part of your article submission that you will want to spend some extra time on it and follow these tips.

Using Google Adwords to Drive Traffic to your Website

by Arya Saleh

Highly targeted traffic is one of the most important entities in the internet universe. Any website owner or administrator recognizes the importance of driving traffic to a website. The success of any website does not rely entirely on the site itself. You may have a terrific idea for a website, offer an excellent product or service, or have an exceptionally designed site with superb content, but if you do not use the right strategies to advertise, your site would not attract the high traffic you need. Attracting targeted traffic is a task that should be taken seriously for any site to succeed or make a profit. Fortunately, there are internet-marketing tools that help the website marketer to drive traffic to his website. One of the most significant, and effective, of these tools is Google's Adwords. Adwords is one of Google's advertising services.

How does Google Adwords work? Google is the largest search engine on the web receiving over 200 million queries each day through its various services. As Google is the most popular search engine today, webmasters are keen on having their websites achieve a higher ranking in the search engine results it provides. A high ranking can mean high traffic for that website. The search engine results page is also a great venue for advertisers to promote a product or service through ads and links. Consequently, Google launched its Adwords service, as a way for businesses to advertise products and services to a targeted audience. Google Adwords can guarantee instant traffic. In this service, Google displays relevant text based ads within its search engine results page termed as "Sponsored Links". Whenever a particular keyword is searched on, these relevant links appear in a separate section giving excellent exposure to the sites listed.

How do you use Google Adwords? First, you have to open an account with the Google Adwords Service. Then, you should indicate your target language and country. This is important because you would not want your products advertised in countries where your product or service cannot be sold. Afterwards, you should now create an ad group. This involves designing the ad, selecting keywords and determining maximum cost per click that you are willing to spend and defining bid amounts. The most important step in creating a successful Adwords campaign is selecting an effective title tag that will catch the attention of your target audience. The title tag, generally a short phrase, is the most important part of your Adwords campaign so make sure that it is attractive and catchy. You should describe the website clearly and accurately. The most effective advertising conveys a clear message to the target audience. With a clear message, you will be attracting qualified leads, which can eventually convert to sale. Thus, the importance of selecting the right keywords cannot be overemphasized.

There are keyword variations you can adapt to reach more prospects. Using these varieties, misspellings and derivatives can help increase the chance of your ads being served. Broad match is targeting keywords in a loosely defined manner. Here, the ads appear based on the keywords that have been queried by other users as opposed to exact match, which calls for the keyword to match the query exactly. Meanwhile, a keyword phrase set to phrase match will only appear when the exact phrase is searched on. A negative keyword is helpful in filtering unrelated pages.

After you have decided on what title tag to use in your ad, you must now define a budget in order to maximize exposure. Google Adwords recommend a daily budget for each campaign. However, you should determine a budget that is suitable and affordable. You should also determine the maximum cost per click. Google will offer a recommended cost per click, but you do not have to stick with this. Usually, a number one position is not ideal as it can also attract unwanted traffic and useless clicks. A number two position is more preferred as it can filter useless clicks and provide traffic with a higher conversion rate.

To conclude, Google Adwords is an excellent strategy and tool in giving your site maximum exposure. Nevertheless, Google Adwords should not be your sole advertising campaign. It will definitely help you find the all-important, highly targeted traffic you need.

Planning A Web Design Strategy To Include Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

by Gary Klingsheim

The phrase "web design strategy means a range of different things to different people, and involves more than merely "design decisions. The term seems to imply that the issue is about color, page layout and the use of Flash animations. Yes, these factors are part of the big picture, but the "bigger picture is about the overall design of your website, meaning its entire "architecture.

You need to find out how your site's overall "information architecture affects its visibility to search engines. The truth is, specific web page elements like your navigation scheme and technologies like CSS (Cascading Style Scripts) or JavaScript can either interfere with or aid a search engine's ability to "spider and rate your site. Sometimes an element can do both, at the same time!

The whole topic of a "site architecture or web design strategy that supports Search Engine Marketing (SEM) has really been quite poorly addressed. Many companies that do SEM consulting have less than state-of-the-art knowledge of how information architecture and design strategy affect a site's usability and organic rankings. If your consultant, or your own research, is focusing only on search advertising, media buys and bidding processes, you are not getting the whole picture.

A top position in the Google results is useless if site visitors aren't being converted into buyers. A successful site architecture and site design strategy will address the needs of both the search engines and your visitors/customers.

Directory setups

Generally speaking, the pages nearest the root directory are the most important pages of your site. Essentially, by placing them near the root you are telling the search engines your priorities, strengths, and focus.

One of the oldest and "wrongest SEO myths, however, is that search bots won't "crawl farther down that a third subdirectory. This is not true now, if it ever was, because as long as related pages are linking with each other in a "spider-friendly way, the search engines will keep on searching. Many experts in the field recommend that the most important pages (up to 200, if you have that many) can be kept in the root directory. This means pages that are important to your target audience, not your consultant or IT expert.

Navigation is key

A key element of your site design is the navigation scheme. Sets of buttons are generally friendlier than pull-down menus (DHTML), but plain old hypertext links are even friendlier than those buttons. While it is true that these text links are easiest for programmers to format (a click with CSS), the site design must consider the preferences of the end users, not the site designers or owners.

The fact is, many usability tests and user focus groups reveal definite preferences among Internet users for intuitive buttons and those dynamic, pull-down menus. Even though some usability experts may not recommend these latter approaches, you really must consider how the users react to them, since it is their actions that lead to sales and rankings, not the theories of the tech squads.

File names, directories, URL's

When queried on which URL is more memorable - domain.com/car/seats.html or domain.com/carseats.html - more than 90 percent of people in an online survey reported preferring the one without the subdirectory. A surplus of "forward slashes" is a common complaint heard by site designers who take the time to check in with actual users.

Many SEM experts create extra subdirectories as a means of adding another keyword in a URL, assuming that it will help ranking. It is fairly well established that keyword-rich title tags are far more beneficial than keyword-rich URL's. Never forget for whom you are creating those URL structures. It's the users. URLs that are easy for users to remember are also easy for them to pass on to others.

Web page categories

Some usability professionals have broken web pages down into seven specific types, while others assert that there are 11, or an even dozen, or more. The actual number is not really that important. The knowledge to take away is that there are different types of pages that SEM-oriented web strategies must consider. Which ones you will employ depends both on your type of business and your approach. And how you will conceive, design and promote each web page will depend to a great extent on the type of page that it is.

Some web page types are home page, category/gallery page, advertising (landing) page, product page, news/media page, form page, services page, shopping cart page, search/results page and "credibility page. Each one naturally requires a different approach. It would be silly to optimize your product page the very same way you optimize some other kind of page, since optimization and design strategies differ according to many factors, not the least of which are the calls to action (CTAs) for each page type.

Layout, look and feel

Naturally, layout strategies will be as varied as the different page types, and a product page will not work according to the same principles as a news page. Of course, you also have to have an integrated and consistent overall design. When you are planning for a site, you need to focus not just on the overall effect, but all the individual ones that are put into play on each page. There must be some overarching sense to the site, while still allowing for differences at the page level.

Successful site design and web strategy entails issues of language, design, color, shape, layout, look and feel. The strategy must make sense while allowing for sufficient flexibility and creativity "along the way." Certainly you want to improve the ability of search engines to access your keyword-rich content, but the bottom line is that you want to increase those site conversions. Keep your eyes on the prize and stay vigilant.

Getting Started With Autoresponders

by Mary McNeil

An autoresponder is an email message which is sent automatically when someone enters their name and contact details on your website and clicks on the Submit button. It is one of those automated responses you'll have received yourself if you shop online, or receive online newsletters.

You need to subscribe to an autoresponder service so that you can send an automatic email response to all your website enquiries. By automating the process, you free yourself up, you make your business look a whole lot more professional and you enable the element of immediate delivery. The quicker your first follow-up message reaches them, the less chance there is of your website sign-ups forgetting why they were interested in you in the first place!

Although an autoresponder doesn't need to consist of anything more than a single message, you can choose to set up whole sequences of messages too. So if, for example, you want to offer a free four part mini-course, with one instalment sent every three days, you can programme your autoresponder account to manage that automatically.

* The double opt-in

As a result of the ever-increasing levels of spam on the internet, all email service providers have put measures in place to ensure that as little unsolicited email as possible actually reaches your mailbox. This means that when you become a sender of bulk email (which is what you are setting yourself up to be by building a mailing list), you need to make sure that you comply with the anti-spam regulations.

Your autoresponder service will, by and large, manage the compliance aspect for you. But one thing you do need to be aware of is the double opt-in. This means that every single person who signs up on your website must confirm their email address before it's okay for you to send them further messages. You don't have to verify your sign-ups this strictly, but I recommend that you do as it will greatly improve the chances of your follow-up messages reaching their destinations reliably.

Assuming you go down the double opt-in route, most autoresponder service providers will offer you some template 'please confirm your subscription' messages. But since the first message that your potential new clients will see from you is the confirmation opt-in email, I think it's important to personalise it.

* Composing your messages

I recommend preparing your messages in something like Word or Notepad before you enter them into your autoresponder account for real. This will give you a chance to think about the wording carefully and about the order in which your new sign-ups will receive information from you. With the double opt-in, they will start out by receiving two messages from you in quick succession.

The first message is the opt-in confirmation message. The bare bones of a typical opt-in message look something like this:

'Thank you for requesting my free introductory report: [report name]. All you need to do now is click the link below to confirm your request. If you have changed your mind or received this message in error, simply delete this email and your information will be removed by the system automatically.'

The second message is the one where you deliver the goods. It's usually either the first instalment of your free report, e-course or set of articles... or it contains a link to the document or audio file you promised on sign-up.

* Hey presto!

Set these messages up, get your website designer to link them through to the sign-up box on your website using the code provided by your autoresponder service, test it to make sure it works, and then you're done... Your first follow-up steps are now automated and you can put your feet up with the beverage of your choice!

How To Make Money On The Internet With Editorial Content

by Malcolm Leyshon

A lot of newbie Internet marketers fail to make money on the Internet because their websites are too focused on selling. They are so keen to make sales that they go overboard with their sales pitches, banner ads, and hyped up claims and the result is that they actually sell very little.

It is a very frustrating for them to know that some people out there are making a lot of money selling affiliate products on the Internet, while they are working their butts off trying to get traffic to a website that looks great but does not convert. What is the solution?

In simple terms it is a matter of rejigging the way you think about how to make money on the Internet. Unless you are a very skillful web copy sales writer, you will probably have little success trying a blatant sales technique. And if you have no confidence in your ability to write sales copy, filling up the empty spaces with banner ads will not provide a solution.

Most people have learned to ignore banner ads and just as many people hate the sensation of being sold to by someone they have never met before.

So the fatal mistake is to try and sell before you have built a relationship with the prospect of customer.

How do you build a relationship with a prospective customer?

By focusing on what that person wants and not on what you want. Of course you and I know that you want to sell something, and that will remain your primary goal, but in order to get there you need to follow the correct route because in most cases people simply don't buy a product on their first exposure to it especially from a person who they have never met and were shouting at them, "Buy, buy, buy!" The main reason why people surf the Internet is that they are looking for useful information.

This is especially the case when they enter keywords into search engines. If they run a keyword search and come across your link they will be much happier if they land on a page full of useful information that is directly related to their keyword search.

It is therefore a good idea for you to turn your website into a source of useful and relevant information that is editorial in style and not obviously trying to sell something. One example of this method is to write product reviews. Another example is to provide advice about the niche market that your website is concerned with.

By showing your visitors that you understand their need for information and by demonstrating to them that you are a knowledgeable source of information, you will probably increase the amount of direct sales you make from your website. But since even the best of websites only convert about three to five percent of first-time traffic into sales, this should not be the main aim of your website content. Treat it as a nice little bonus on the side.

Instead, the actual aim of your website should be to persuade as many people as possible to give you permission to contact them via e-mail. To do this you will need to get them to give you their name and e-mail address by filling in a form on your website. Of course not many people will simply fill-in form for no apparent reason, so you need to give them a compelling reason to do that.

What you need to do is offer them a detailed report giving much more information of the sort that they came to your website to look for. Offer the report free of charge and invite them to fill-in the form in order to access it. Make it clear to them that filling in the form will also give them the opportunity to receive your newsletter, or news updates free of charge in the future.

If your free offer is attractive enough, and if you have placed the sign up form in a prominent position, near the top of each of your web pages, you should be able to get a considerable percentage of your first-time visitors to join your list.

Now you can contact them at your leisure and work on building a relationship with them which will make the whole selling process a lot easier and therefore help you to make money on the Internet.
