Building Backlinks - why it is so important for PR

by Varun Kashyap

The idea behind including backlinks as part of the page rank algorithm is that if a page is good, people will start linking to it. And the more backlinks a page has the better. But in practice it is not exactly like this. Or at least you cannot always rely on the fact that your contents are good and people will link to you. Yes, if your content is good and relevant you can get a lot of quality backlinks, including from sites with similar topic as yours (and these are the most valuable kind of backlinks, especially if the anchor text contains your keywords) but what you get without efforts could be less than what you need to successfully promote your site. So, you will have to resort to other ways of acquiring quality backlinks as described next.

Ways to Build Backlinks

Even if plenty of backlinks come to your site the natural way, additional quality backlinks are always welcome and the time you spend building them is not wasted. Among the acceptable ways of building quality backlinks are getting listed in directories, posting in forums, blogs and article directories. The unacceptable ways include inter-linking (linking from one site to another site, which is owned by the same owner or exists mainly for the purpose to be a link farm), linking to spam sites or sites that host any kind of illegal content, purchasing links in bulk, linking to link farms, etc. The first step in building backlinks is to find the places from which you can get quality backlinks. A valuable assistant in this process is the Backlinks Builder tool. When you enter the keywords of your choice, the Backlinks Builder tool gives you a list of sites where you can post an article, message, posting, or simply a backlinks to your site. After you have the list of potential backlinks partners, it is up to you to visit each of the sites and post your content with the backlinks to your site in it. You might wonder why sites as those, listed by the Backlinks Builder tool provide such a precious asset as backlinks for free. The answer is simple: they need content for their site. When you post an article, or submit a link to your site, you do not get paid for this. You provide them for free with something they need - content - and in return they also provide you for free with something you need - quality backlinks. It is a free trade, as long as the sites you post your content or links are respected and you don't post fake links or content.

Getting Listed in Directories

If you are serious about your Web presence, getting listed in directories like DMOZ and Yahoo is a must - not only because this is a way to get some quality backlinks for free, but also because this way you are easily noticed by both search engines and potential visitors. Generally inclusion in search directories is free but the drawback is that sometimes you have to wait a couple of months before you get listed in the categories of your choice.

Forums and Article Directories

Generally search engines index forums so posting in forums and blogs is also a way to get quality backlinks with the anchor text you want. If the forum or blog is a respected one, a backlinks is valuable. However, in some cases the forum or blog administrator can edit your post, or even delete it if it does not fit into the forum or blog policy. Also, sometimes administrators do not allow links in posts, unless they are relevant ones. In some rare cases (which are more an exception than a rule) the owner of a forum or a blog would have banned search engines from indexing it and in this case posting backlinks there is pointless. While forum postings can be short and do not require much effort, submitting articles to directories can be more time-consuming because generally articles are longer than posts and need careful thinking while writing them. But it is also worth and it is not so difficult to do.

Content Exchange and Affiliate Programs

Content exchange and affiliate programs are similar to the previous method of getting quality backlinks. For instance, you can offer to interested sites RSS feeds for free. When the other site publishes your RSS feed, you will get a backlinks to your site and potentially a lot of visitors, who will come to your site for more details about the headline and the abstract they read on the other site. Affiliate programs are also good for getting more visitors (and buyers) and for building quality backlinks but they tend to be an expensive way because generally the affiliate commission is in the range of 10 to 30 %. But if you have an affiliate program anyway, why not use it to get some more quality backlinks?

News Announcements and Press Releases

although this is hardly an everyday way to build backlinks, it is an approach that gives good results, if handled properly. There are many sites (for instance, here is a list of some of them) that publish for free or for a fee news announcements and press releases. A professionally written press release about an important event can bring you many, many visitors and the backlinks from a respected site to yours is a good boost to your SEO efforts. The tricky part is that you cannot release press releases if there is nothing newsworthy. That is why we say that news announcements and press releases are not a commodity way to build backlinks.

Backlinks Building Practices to Avoid

One of the practices that is to be avoided is link exchange. There are many programs, which offer to barter links. The principle is simple: you put a link to a site, they put a backlinks to your site. There are a couple of important things to consider with link exchange programs. First, take care about the ratio between outbound and inbound links. If your outbound links are times your inbound, this is bad. Second (and more important) is the risk that your link exchange partners are link farms. If this is the case, you could even be banned from search engines, so it is too risky to indulge in link exchange programs. Linking to suspicious places is something else that you must avoid. While it is true that search engines do not punish you if you have backlinks from such places because it is supposed that you have no control over what bad guys link to, if you enter a link exchange program with the so called bad neighbors and you link to them, this can be disastrous to your SEO efforts. For more details about bad neighbors, check the Bad Neighborhood article. Also, beware of getting tons of links in a short period of time because this still looks artificial and suspicious.

Importance of Auto-responders, Articles and Separate Web Pages in Affiliate Marketing

by Joel Heim

In this article we are going to discuss the importance of article writing, creating separate pages for each affiliate product and autoresponders in the business of affiliate marketing.

1. Creating Separate Web Pages for Every Affiliate Product

If you are an affiliate and have a website where you are promoting various affiliate products, you need to know that you should never promote all of the products on a single page or on every page of your website. If you are promoting three products, then create three different pages. Each page should be used to promote a single product. Add a brief introduction and review of product, along with the benefits and properties of the product. This way your customer will be more convinced which will bring more chances of making sales.

On each separate page of your affiliate product there should be a top heading that should define clearly what is on this page. Then there must be a short review. This review should be brief and no more than 500-600 words. You can add some pictures of the product. This is a good method to increase your search engine rankings and also helps to increase the sales.

It will be good if you can add some comparative study. You can compare your product with the other same type of products present in the market. You should highlight the properties that are not present in the competitors' products but are present in your product. State clearly if your merchant is providing any free service with the purchase of the product. These services may include the free installation service, free delivery service, free maintenance or money back guarantee. These will increase the interest of your visitors in your affiliate products and will boost up your sales.

2. Importance of Autoresponders

Usually the better part of people who will visit your website will leave your website without making a purchase or a return visit. For instance, if 100 people visit your website one of them will purchase something while 99 others will simply leave your website and will not come back.

In order to make these 99 people come back again to your website to purchase your affiliate products, you will use autoresponders. The concept is that it will collect the email address of the visitor and send them free reports about your product. These reports must be interesting, brief and to the point. Send 5-7 emails to each visitor. Each report must promote your product in a different style. In each report highlight a new feature of your product in detail and highlight the conditions in which your products may be really useful. If your visitor is reading your reports, then he may decide to purchase your product because of the information you have given him. Usually people don't read the full features of product, as they have no time. But these mini reports will educate them in really a short time and they will be more likely to purchase the product.

3. Write Articles

To increase your link popularity and search engine ranking, write articles and publish them in e-groups. Each article published in e-groups will send the instant traffic to your website. If you cannot write the articles yourself, you can hire some professional writers who can do it for you at reasonable cost. You should submit at least 2 articles per week.

Another good idea is to break the article in two parts. Publish Part I in an e-group. At the end of your article you can say that for more details of this subject visit this site. Here you can give the link of your website. Now publish the part II of your article on your website. If your articles are really interesting and informative, then you are expected to get a lot of traffic to your website. And more traffic will really increase the sales of your products.

Conclusion

In order to increase your website traffic and product sales try to make a separate page for each product on your website. Also try to send the weekly reports to your visitors to make them come back to your website. Finally publishing the articles in the e-groups is a good way to increase your link popularity.

Four Types of Site Build For Extreme Google Adsense!

by Kavita Batta

Adsense and affiliate marketing is extremely hot in the marketing world right now, primarily because of the fact that you need not spend hours and hours of tedious writing to create a product that you can sell for $27 or more. This article will outline the four major ways you can build a website to profit immensely from both of these methods.

The first type of site you can create is the traditional niche content website. This method involves you building a site from scratch. You need to create a template, add content and implement your Adsense and affiliate links. You can download free templates or pay for someone to create you one. You can collect content from free reprint articles from directories or you could use private label articles - you could even use a mixture of all three.

The second type of site you could build is a blog. These are great because of the way you can automate some of the tasks and because of the fact they are free to set up and maintain. Select one of the free pre-made templates. Slightly edit the template to include Adsense and affiliate links. Once that's done you simply need to add content and you can do that like you did for the first method. Post to your blog once per day for the first month, 3 times per week for the next month and then once per week for the rest of the time and you will have a blog producing a consistent income stream for months and years into the future.

The third type of site you could create is an article directory. I'm sure you've seen them before and I'm sure you've used them before, but have you ever owned one before?

You can find free software to power your article directory and once it's set up and you have a regular stream of traffic, you will have tens, then hundreds, then thousands of authors submitting content to your site on a daily basis. That means thousands of new pages with your Adsense ads and affiliate links being created every day.

There are thousands of article directory sites out there now however and competition is fierce. You should perhaps consider setting up a niche article directory on a particular subject, so that you can dominate that niche market.

The final type of site you could create also involves profiting from content your visitors submit. Setting up a forum can be very profitable, especially as you can build a relationship with your website visitors and they are more likely to purchase or click on something you recommend.

These four methods of building niche websites can prove to be very profitable in creating regular and explosive streams of Adsense and affiliate income and the best part of this system is that you can make money even if you don't work on your sites for weeks or months on many occasions.

Don't expect this to be easy method online money making however. You still need to build your websites, promote them and tweak them for maximum earning potential.

Article Writing - The Wrong Way to Write Articles

by vandanabindu

The wisest tips and suggestions on how you can improve your writing abilities for the web has been constantly discussed and explained in most articles. But avoiding the common pitfalls in writing web articles is the cleverest.

If after you submitted your articles to a handful of publishers and still did not generate the traffic you need, then maybe its time to check if you are committing the common pitfalls.

Here is a list of the most common overlooked pitfalls you and other writers commit.

1. Remember you are writing articles, content-rich, informative and useful articles, NOT SOLO ADS. Writing an obvious advert is a major turn-off for most publishers. How will you know if you are writing an advert? If your article lacks useful information, sounds like a sales pitch when you read them aloud and you inserted your link outside of the resource box, midway through the article that means your article is a blatant ADVERT. Do not even imagine your article being published to any of the publication and newsletter.

2. If website links outside of the resource boxes are a general-no-no to publishers, what more other links that of your affiliates. Be sure that your article is free of any website links, except for minor instances that it is needed to give additional information, but the rest should weblink free article.

3. Incorrect spellings and other grammatical errors are eye sores to publishers and readers. Do not let this happen, as you would be negatively branded and would be considered as not someone to be trusted. If spelling checks are needed by all means do it.

4. Resource boxes are spaces for basic information about you, your business and contact details including your website link. Do not put over-hyped promotional words, sentences on your resource box. This may become a turning point for publishers who decided not to take your article instead but well in fact impressed by the first and middle parts of your article.

If these have been your ways before, better stop, think, reflect and act on it so you can make use better of your writing ability and knowledge.

Now, how to act on it? Aside from avoiding the common pitfalls discussed above, some suggestions for each aspect of your article should be taken into your consideration when starting to write.

TOPIC. To help you choose the best topic for your article, brainstorming is necessary. Try scanning through discussion forums and egroups that is basically within your market reach and has something in common with your website. Take active part in the discussions and get ideas for hot topics. Observe the members interests, styles, culture and likes. You may get some important ideas which may be used for bullet points.

TITLE. Title is a very important element in an article and the success or failure of your article is highly dependent on your title. Formulate a tantalizing and attention grabber title.

INTRODUCTION. Absorbing, compelling, powerful and an easily understandable introduction is an excellent way to make your readers eyes constantly glued in your articles until the end.

CONTENT. As the saying goes content is King You may have the most catchy title every composed or a capturing introduction but if your content is lousy, your readers will stop reading your piece and click away. So do not waste opportunities to hook your readers, make all aspect of your article work for you.

KEYWORDS. Keywords are the main generators of traffic to your sites. If you have established strong keywords in your article, this will improve your search engine ranking, increasing the volume of your visitors. Be sure to insert the keywords in your articles in strategic locations ñ title, introductory and closing paragraphs and distributed evenly in the body of the article.

RESOURCE BOX. This is the lifeblood of your article since it connects you to your readers. A well composed material, free of promotional languages resource box is also one of the important decisive factors for publishers whether to publish your article or not. Your resource box must contain only basic information about you, your business and contact details with URL.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION. One thing important in submitting your articles is the submission rules of the publishers. Since you will benefit from getting your articles published better follow his rules. Rules change for every publication, thus, reading their guidelines is very important. Article banks, online directories and ezines accept submitted articles.

With all the reminders, common pitfalls and suggestions called to your attention by this article, these are enough points to guide you to your writing profession in the web.

Basics of Pay Per Click Advertising

by Varun Kashyap

PPC, or pay per click, advertising is the most reliable way to purchase guaranteed traffic. You can get a large number of perfectly targeted visitors very quickly using this method of promotion.

PPC ads can be found in the listings of the major search engines, usually in the right margin and labeled "sponsor listings". Also PPC ads can be delivered from standard Web page content if the Website owner participates in some sort of contextual ad network like Google Adsense.

Setting up a PPC campaign is simple. You must register an account with a publisher or search company and submit your ad in the format of headline and body. After you create your ad you will also need to select the specific keywords you would like your ad to appear for and then bid on these keywords.

In the case of PPC search engine promotion, your ads will only appear when a user searches on the keywords you specify. In the case of PPC ads displayed in standard Web content, your ads will be displayed within articles and blog posts that contain the keywords you have chosen. This formula means you'll be getting extremely targeted traffic.

You are required to bid a specific amount of money that will be paid for each click your ad receives. Priority is given to the PPC ads with the highest bid amounts.

For instance, you might decide you'll pay 0.10 for each visitor the PPC program sends you. Advertisers who bid 0.11 or more will have their ad shown higher in the sponsored listings than you, while advertisers who bid 0.09 or less will be lower than you in the rankings.

You will be required to enter your credit or debit card details into the ad system and then fund your advertiser account with an initial deposit.

PPC campaigns will almost always result in lost of traffic. This, of course, means your money will disappear pretty quickly, making the PPC game a little scary for new online marketers.

You can set daily budgets to avoid going broke, but even then your balance can be depleted within a matter of minutes.

Also many PPC providers have stringent terms of service, and it can sometimes be a real pain jumping through hoops to get your ad approved. I admit I've never had a problem but I know a lot of folks who have.

The ideal PPC program for a beginner will allow you to:

1. Test the waters without blowing a fortune in the process.

2. Just run your ads without being put under a magnifying glass and having to follow a manual of rules.

I recommend 7search.com for new marketers. This program serves PPC ads through a contextual ad network and on a variety of major search engines so you can get lots of good traffic from a wide variety of sites.

And their pricing is really good because they're not as advertiser saturated as Google. Plus they have only basic rules in place - as long as you're not advertising porn, hate, or illegal scams you're good to go.

As long as you can afford a reasonably competitive bid, you will definitely receive a good flow of traffic from PPC promotion. The only real question is: how long will it take you to tweak your ads and landing pages to the point where you are making sales or getting sign-ups?

This type of advertising requires a great deal of trial and error. If you're not willing to test your sales page, ad copy, and overall process extensively don't bother registering a PPC account. The payoffs can be well worth the initial workload, as most good PPC providers allow you to expose your offers to a huge audience of targeted prospects.

Creating An Effective Author Resource Box For Your Article Marketing Campaign

by Sumit.Sharma

Many individuals who have a product and/or service to offer are starting to realize the importance of creating an effective author resource box for their article marketing campaign. Ultimately, this is even more important than the article itself. In all actuality, the resource box is considered to be the ultimate 'selling point' when it comes to the article that is composed in order to promote a service or a product. Many websites may refer to this as the 'Author Bio Box', or even the 'Author Signature'. Here, you will learn how to create a successful resource box in order to increase the effectiveness of your article marketing campaign.

The very first point to make in your resource box is to express to the audience exactly who you are. This means, simply put, include your name! Now, when it comes to marketing online, you have the freedom to use your real name, or a 'pen' name. In addition to the actual name that you place in this section, you may consider including a specific title. This helps the audience identify your authority on the subject matter that you have composed. This also helps those in your readership to develop trust in you as an 'expert' in your field. You will find, as you progress in your campaign, that having trust and being viewed as an expert is essential for success when it comes to your marketing campaign.

Now, the next area that you will want to focus on is an address that identifies that in which you are associated. This is essential. If you expect your readers to visit a specific website on the internet, you must direct them to it. It is important to avoid simply putting a standard 'piece' of an internet address in the resource section of your article. You should be certain that you attach the complete address to the website. Many individuals elect to not place the actual, raw website address in visible view of the reader. They may elect to hyperlink the address to a specific title or keyword. This is appropriate. However, it is important to ensure that the article directory that you elect to use allows you to hyperlink. If not, this will prove to be useless.

The next area that you will want to focus on is your 'sales pitch'. Have you ever heard of the phrase 'sell yourself'? Well, this is the area where it is necessary to do this. You must inform your audience who you are, why they should value you as an author, and what makes you a unique author. The most complicated aspect to this is being able to do it in three to four sentences, max! Once you have accomplished this, you should insert what many refer to as the ultimate 'call to action'. You should encourage and ask for a sale all in one, then inform them of the next step or steps to be taken in order to appropriately conclude this step.

There are a number of effective article directories online today. You will want to select a directory that is popular, and serves many visitors. You will also want to choose a directory that ranks relatively high in search engines. This will ensure that your article receives maximum exposure.

For many online web, building opt in list and affiliate marketing have proven quite profitable. Mainly because most online users are not exposed to any unscrupulous internet marketing strategies prevalent on the World Wide Web.

With an effective Internet marketing strategy, online users are given the choice to subscribe for information or services provided by a particular site. The fundamental of building opt in list and affiliate marketing

Different websites have various ways of building opt in list and affiliate marketing. However there are some tried and tested systems to help new affiliate marketers establish their own opt in listing for their site. The first and most important factor to determine in building opt in list and affiliate marketing is to establish the site's target market.

This can be done using a variety of ways to convince site visitors to sign up for the web's newsletter or e-zine. There are a number of strategies that affiliate marketers can use for establishing opt in list and affiliate marketing. One way of building opt in list and affiliate marketing is by purchasing or leasing a subscribers list from third-parties. This is usually done by affiliate marketers in order to get quick access to many people who have consented to receiving e-mails, newsletters and e-zines on various topics.

E commerce Web Hosting Should be Cost Effective, not Cheap

by Joel Sussman

Everyone who has a web site or an ecommerce business needs a reliable web hosting service -- but with all the choices and options out there, how do you choose? While price is certainly a consideration, "cheap web hosting" can often be more of a headache than it's worth. From a business management point of view, saving $20 or even $50 a month isn't going to be much of a consolation if your company is losing thousands of dollars in sales due to excessive downtime, functionality problems, or horrendous customer service.

For most ecommerce web hosting users, satisfaction is based on two primary expectations: reliability and customer service. While no web hosting service can guarantee 100% uptime, it's not unrealistic to promise 99.9% uninterrupted service. Something is inevitably going to come up, every now and then, that will cause a brief interruption in service, but it's the responsibility of the web hosting company to make sure that those interruptions are resolved efficiently, quickly, and with as minimal of a disruption to your web business as possible. Even more important, is whether your ecommerce web hosting service provider has safeguards in place that will reduce or prevent the likelihood of technical problems taking place.

When weighing the benefits and features that are offered by different web hosting services, here are some important questions to keep in mind as you compare your options:

Does the web hosting service you're considering monitor their servers on a 24/7 basis, and have measures in place to prevent, detect, and respond to fires, vandalism, and other emergencies?

Do they have backup systems for both data protection and power supply continuity. In other words, if your web hosting provider's facilities experience a total power outage, what provisions do they have in place to ensure that your data isn't lost and that your web site doesn't go offline? One good sign that a web hosting provider is both reliable and service oriented is that they feed their servers with conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) that will continue to run even if there is a local power outage. They should also have an on-site diesel generator that will run indefinitely in the case of an extended power failure.

Other indications that the hosting service you're considering has your best interests in mind is that they conduct nightly off-site data backups and have an off-site disaster recovery system. Since "Murphy's Law" dictates that problems will inevitably crop up (and will do so at the worst possible time), your best bet as an ecommerce business owner is to sign on with an e commerce web hosting service that is geared up for providing the best possible service while being prepared to handle the worst catastrophes. In addition to the likelihood that they'll be reliable, their level of preparedness is also a reflection of their professionalism, their technical savvy, and their dedication to customer service and satisfaction.

Assuming downtime, pricing, or disc space are not going to be issues, the items near the top of your checklist will undoubtedly be the quality of customer service and the level of technical support. Bandwidth, user friendliness, and email accounts are also key considerations in choosing a good service provider, but after all is said and done, if you can't depend on your ecommerce web hosting service to be responsive, available, and helpful, then sooner or later, you're going to be shopping for another web hosting solution.

Build Customer Confidence with Testimonials

by Bob Speyer

Every person in America has bought something that either broke or stopped working after a few days. Because of this, today's customers want to feel reassured that you are selling quality products and services. Customers do not want to lose money or feel like they've made a bad decision. The best way to do assure customers is to have good, strong testimonials.

If a business has happy customers and a lot of return clients, it should have testimonials. You wouldn't hire a contractor to remodel your house without checking references. Therefore be proud of the work you do and get some testimonials. Customer testimonials will help increase sales as well as boost the confidence of potential customers.

The Difference Between Good and Better

In order to have testimonials work for you and increase clientele, you must be careful how you phrase them. Testimonials are a marketing effort, which means that they need to be geared toward making your company look spectacular. For example instead of writing "I love their vitamins",write "Taking these vitamins everyday gives me lots of energy and keeps me feeling great all day long." The latter testimonial is a lot more eye-catching and will be more effective in gaining a customer's confidence than the former. Ask customers who are willing to write testimonials to be specific.

Cherry Pick Your Testimonials

If you don't have any testimonials, check your company's email inbox for customers who sent compliments. If you can't find any ones you like, look at your client list and find out who is buying your products and at what frequency. Call or email a handful of your best customers and ask them to write a specific testimonial. Have them send a picture as well. This will give potential customers further reassurance of the validity of the testimonial.

Testimonials will not only improve your business, but will also improve your company's image as one that values customer satisfaction. So make the effort to get some strong testimonials.

Four Tips for Effective and Eye-Catching Locations

1. Once you have the testimonials, you need to figure out where to put them on your site. Placement is key, particularly when using flash. You want your testimonials to give maximum impact. The most common place on a website is for them to have their own navigation button titled either "Testimonials" or "Rave Reviews." This way more testimonials can be viewed on their own page.

2. Another option is to use flash testimonials on a sidebar on the homepage along with the customer's name, job title and company or logo. If you are using the testimonials in the masthead, they should rotate every 7-10 seconds then stop after all testimonials are shown. You don't want a testimonial to be so distracting that it takes the emphasis off of the content and what you are selling or offering. By having the flash cycle stop, you are allowing viewers to see the testimonials and then freely look at the content without the excess flash.

3. An alternative way to present testimonials is to sprinkle them throughout the site, highlighting them within the content - using graphics, such as a color block background, upper and lower bar, etc. These visual stops are equally effective in reinforcing your credibility and can act as an additional selling point for specific products or services.

4. If you have the option for audio or video testimonials, this can be very effective in boosting your company's credibility. Audio is easy to record using Audio Acrobat. Video, on the other hand, requires more thought to positioning and angles. If you are at a trade show or with a client, you may want to pre-plan these testimonials for more impact.

Remember that in order for a testimonial to be effective, it needs to be specific, believable and placed in a credible location. With these three tips in mind, your testimonials will build customer confidence and web success.

Services and Tools Of Article Marketing

by columbus

There are a lot of services and tools available out there when it comes to article marketing. Article marketing is something done by a lot of people. As people become more proficient in article marketing, they tend to pass that knowledge onto others. The means that they use in order to pass that knowledge along can be different. Some of these differences are reflected in the services and tools that are available online. Most of the article marketing services and tools, whether you are talking about search engine marketing, SEO or something else, can be divided into a number of different categories. The main ones are discussed below.

Submission Tool: Submission tools are arguably the first article marketing tools to appear online. These are tools that can do one of two things. They can either help you send one article to a number of different article websites, or they can help you send permutations of your article to the same website.

Either way, you are getting multiple back links to your website for the price of one written article and ultimately that is going to be good for SEO efforts you might have going. One of the main purposes of article marketing is to augment search engine marketing strategies through SEO and submission tools can help greatly in the accomplishment of that purpose.

Originality Checker: The originality checker is a lot more recent than the submission tool for articles. However, more people will use the originality checker in their daily article marketing.

This is because the originality checker allows people to discover whether their article is original content, or whether it is going to be seen as being plagiarized. Websites that have content that Google considers plagiarized will be banished to Google supplemental results and ultimately that will mean bad things for your SEO efforts.

Search engine marketing relies on original content and originality checkers allow you to make sure that your content is original. Two good examples of originality checkers online are Cityscape and Article Checker; the latter is completely free.

Submission Strategist: A submission strategist is not a tool, but rather a service.

You have doubtless already come across websites professing to have the best article marketing services around. These websites essentially have staff on them that have a lot of experience in article marketing. This experience allows them to know what articles should be submitted where.

This experience can mean great things for your search engine marketing efforts because submitting the right articles to the right places can really increase your SEO.

Part of SEO is efficiency, not just quantity and therefore a submission strategist might be a good idea if you have the money to spare.

Writer: Of course, some people want to do article marketing but are prevented from it because they are not capable of writing.

Therefore, a writer might be a very good article marketing service for you to hire, because they can make article marketing possible. A writer will be able to write good and original content. A writer will be able to write content that is rich with keywords. A writer will be able to write content that the search engines will eat up.

Then, all you have to do is take the writer's content and post it to the article websites and you will have a very good article marketing campaign going.

These are some of the main tools and services available out there for people interested in article marketing. If you are truly interested in article marketing, you will want to look at one or all of these services at some point.

While you might be a good writer, chances are you are not a good article marketer and even if you are you are going to need to want to have original articles. You will also want to have smart submissions and cut down on your own work. These tools and services help you accomplish everything you need to in order to be a good article marketer.

The lowdown on VPS hosting

by Abdul Vasi

The world of the internet is constantly evolving. For people looking to step foot into the World Wide Web it is important to understand the different terms and techniques that go around on the web. Amongst the many different things that you ought to know about when looking to build your website is VPS.

Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting is actually the name given to the hosting of distinct entities that are for different customers all within a single server. In this way one physical server can be partitioned to create multiple virtual servers. The hardware as well as the connection will be shared amongst the customers.

This does not mean that they are stripped of the benefits that dedicated hosting provides for them. Rather they are given almost the same benefits that are available in dedicated servers such as private operating system as well as file system. They will also be given complete freedom of accessibility and maximum security.

So basically VPS is actually a hosting environment that stands in the middle of dedicated and shared hosting. The benefit that you as the customer get while opting for VPS is that you can have all the advanced performance and privacy for a much lower cost than dedicated hosting. VPS control

VPS gives customers total control. Accessing administrative tasks such as installing software, changing server configurations, rebooting the server and hosting multiple sites are all made easy and convenient for the customer. This kind of account works best for those customers that require a high level of security along with enhanced accessibility.

For website owners that are already on shared hosting and thinking of moving towards dedicated hosting VPS is actually the ideal alternative. It would be much wiser for people in such situation to try out what VPS has to offer them first rather than shifting directly to dedicated hosting.

Some hosting services will let you in on a VPS package as low as ten dollars per month. Hence VPS hosting turns out to be extremely worthy for a large bulk of users. The operating system and file system of each customer remains separate and the only sharing of the server will be related to CPU, network and disk input/output.

VPS hosting works wonders for those individuals with the intention of running reseller hosting. This is because VPS will give them much greater control over the services that they can offer. This will give you an edge over the rest of the resellers operating in the market.

VPS hosting is also extremely beneficial for those people looking to set up function rich blogs or social networking websites. Webmasters that have a considerable amount of comfort dealing with shared hosting can move to VPS in order to upgrade their skills on aspects like server management. This will not incur them to face the risks associated with dedicated hosting either.

In conclusion we can safely say that VPS hosting seems to be the perfect solution for customers in a wide range of applications. This is because it gives you the flexibility that you would find in dedicated hosting but a cost that as low as shared hosting.

Valuable Modern SEO Techniques - The Importance Of Having a High Rank

by saurabh duggal

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are methods that aid in the improvement of a website's ranking in the listings of search engines. There are different kinds of listings that are displayed in the results pages of search engines, such as paid inclusion, pay-per-click advertisements, and organic search results. Utilizing SEO can increase the quantity of site visitors that acts on the activity that the site intends.

Sites have different goals for search optimization. Some sites search for all kinds of traffic. A SEO strategy that is broad in scope can be advantageous for sites that cover broad interest, such as directories and periodicals. On the other hand, majority of the sites attempt to maximize their pages for a high quantity of very specific keywords that radiate the possibility of a sale. Usually, focusing on well-chosen traffic produces sales leads of desirable quality, and allows advertisers to pull in more business.

The importance of having a high rank for an advertiser's site cannot be emphasized enough. Unfortunately, many site owners believe that their site has a high-ranking, when the truth is exactly the opposite. Others who are aware that they do not possess enough presence in search engines do not know that it is possible to achieve the ranking they want, and that they can get it through means that are a lot easier and more efficient.

So what are the techniques that advertisers must employ to maximize their optimization and garner the site activity and profits that they seek? Here are some of the most useful ones.

1. Title tags should be written in a creative way. It should be created with the strongest keyword targets as the basis. It is the most important tag of a web site when it comes to optimization. The specific keyword of the web site that is being optimized should be the one that is placed in the title tag. It goes without saying that every site should have its own title tag.

2. Carefully select the words and phrases to be assigned to Alt tags. Alt tags are not really mandatory, but they are provided for text browsers because images do not get displayed in web browsers, and it is the Alt tags that give information to the users about its significance. The rule in Alt tags is fairly simple: only key phrases or key words should be put in Alt tags, overdoing may cause a site to disappear in search results or get banned from it indefinitely.

3. Manage keyword density. Keyword density is the percentage occupied by keywords or keyword phrases in a web page. Ideally, keywords are used once in the title tag, the heading tag, and in bold text. Keywords should be placed at the top of the page, and phrases can be inserted in every paragraph, depending on how long the paragraph is.

4. Determine the appropriate page size for the site. Speed is a vital element to the success of a site, and it important to both online visitors and the search engines. It is recommended to limit web pages under 15K.

5. Create rich themes for the pages. Search engines are increasingly getting particular about themes. Content should be created as often as possible, and the pages should be maintained to 200 to 500 words. The content should be created in relation to the market, and should be linked to the other related content present on the site.

6. Make the site's design attractive to the viewer. All efforts in optimization will be in vain if the site is poorly designed and if its contents are hard for viewers to read. There should be more text content than HTML content in the web site. Viewers should be able to use the pages in all major browsers. It should be noted that most search engines veer away from JavaScript and Flash.

7. Stay away from the bad techniques. Utilizing them could get a site blacklisted from the search engines. Spamming is a no-no, and the following techniques are considered spamming: doorway and identical pages, tiny or invisible text, cloaking, usage of keyword phrases in author tags etc.

Advertisers should keep in mind that simplicity is the basis of a successful SEO campaign. Sites should be easy for viewers to locate, follow, and read, and should contain relevant content. Following the techniques above will prove worthwhile for site owners in the future.

3 Helpful Tips On How To Find The Best Private Label Rights Website Graphics

by Justin Michie

One of the biggest obstacles for many people trying to develop a website is to find good graphics at a decent price. If you are developing a website that is going to reflect your business, you want to make darn sure that the graphics you use make that site look professional. So how do you get professional graphics without having to pay huge sums of money?

The answer is simple. You just need to find some great looking private label rights website graphics.

So what exactly are private label rights website graphics? They are simply graphics that have been created and are being resold in limited quantities. You can purchase these graphics and use them on your websites to promote your business. You can also customize these PLR minisite graphics if you need to. But how do you find the best PLR minisite graphics?

First of all, before you purchase any private label rights website graphics, take a good look at the graphics of the site that is selling them. If the graphics are amateurish, chances are the graphics that you receive from this supplier will be as well. You want to make sure that you purchase graphics from a site that looks like it has been designed by a professional.

Secondly, you should look for samples of the PLR minisite graphics for sale. If the site does not have samples, you should be very hesitant about purchasing. Any graphic site that is professional should not be afraid to show some samples. If there are no samples, it is probably a good idea to shop for your graphics elsewhere.

Thirdly, when looking through the graphic samples, take into consideration your skill level with graphics. Some graphics are more complicated to customize than others. You may need to know how to change the size of the graphic to fit onto your web page or you may want to change the colors of the graphic. If the graphics are too fancy you may have a tough time making the needed changes. The mark of a good private label rights website is graphics look professional, but are simple and easy to customize.

One very important thing to take into consideration before you buy any PLR minisite graphics is how you can edit them. Some graphics sites require you to have Photoshop to edit their graphics. If you don't have Photoshop, this will be an added expense. After purchasing Photoshop, you will then have to learn how to use it. The best thing to do is to find private label rights website graphics that are coded so that you can edit them in the graphics editor of your choice.

When you are looking for PLR minisite graphics, remember that your website is your business card to the world. It must look clean and professional if you want to grow a successful, profitable business.

Know more about the best websites for affiliate website marketing

by KUSHAL GUPTA

Owing to the new Google rules on Adwords, you need a website if you are to become a successful affiliate marketer. In the past, you could get away without one, using the direct linking technique. Direct linking means that the surfer is taken directly from your advert to the Merchant's page.

Generally, it was necessary to use a cloaked link, such as you can get at tinyurl, but it could be done. There were better ways of linking, but they required a website.

Overheads of less than $100 a year

But now you need to bite bullet and get a website. There is no need to spend more than $7 a month for web hosting, and the domain name, which is the name of your website, costs about $10 a year. Not much of an overhead for a business is it? Just under $100 a year, compared with over $10,000 as a minimum for a tiny offline business.

To he fair, you really need an autoresponder, which costs $180-$360 a year, and if you want your website to be designed for you, you could spend $300 a year for hosting instead of $84. That could be good value. Even so, you would spend less than $700 all in.

Keep the website simple

What sort of website do you need? For affiliate website marketing you need a simple website, with the minimum of graphics. The only graphic you need is a header graphic, about 600 x 100 pixels to 750 x 100 pixels. The rest can be done by text. You can get a header logo done for about $25 online, or you can get some graphics software are make your own. It is probably best to buy one.

Get a memorable domain name

First, though, you need to select your domain name. This will need to be unique, so the obvious terms are no longer available, and haven't been for years. A good solution is to combine your name with affiliate or affiliate dump or affiliates treasure or something like that. Remember that you are building a brand, so whizzbangaffiliate or harrysmith-affiliatenews is better than toptips-affiliatemarketing, which is rather easily forgotten.

With the domain name registered at namecheap or another top-line registrar, you can get the graphics done. After that you just need to write some articles about the products you are marketing. Reviews of products do well. You also need a few articles about the topic itself. Even if you do not know much about the subject you can easily find out by reading three or four pages in Google.

Overall, ten pages is enough, but this needs to include an 'about us' page and a 'privacy policy' page. The privacy policy page just needs to say that you hate spam and that you will not divulge email addresses to anyone else. Don't forget the privacy page. You don't need an 'about us' page, but it helps build credibility.

What about layout? Avoid sidebars in bright colours, and make sure that the main text is black on a white background. The whole idea is to draw the surfer to the text and to keep him or her reading. Remember that, learn a bit of copywriting and you

5 Ways To Increase Your Opt-In List

by Matt Helphrey

The opportunity to have a list of customers that are interested in what you have to offer is priceless. Think about the possibilities of mailing over 5,000 people a product or service that they might be interested in. It's like having your own personal ATM machine that you can tap into whenever you need some money.

Let's say for example that you do have 5,000 people enrolled in your newsletter/opt-in and you decide to send out an email promoting a $50 product. Let's say again that out of the 5,000 people, only 1% buy the product or service. That's 50 people buying a $50 product and it will gross you $2,500!

That's a pretty good day at work if you ask me. The only problem that remains though is to get your opt-in list to 5,000 people. Here are five ways to help you increase your opt-in list.

1. Create a lead capture page. It would be wise for you to create a separate page with only a sign-up form on it. Your lead capture page should let your visitor know exactly what they will be gaining or getting by signing up for free. Always over give.

2. Place a sign-up form on the top of all your pages that receive regular traffic. This includes your main index page and any blogs that you are running too. You just want to make sure that all of your visitors are able to see the sign-up form. Make them keenly aware that all they have to do to receive free stuff is sign their name and address.

3. Advertise your lead capture page on traffic exchanges. Lead capture pages work well on traffic exchanges because most people are just blindly clicking on pages. If you are offering something for free it is more likely that they will take it.

4. Use a pop up ad to catch peoples attention. A small pop up asking for the visitors name and email can prove to be a very effective way to increase your op-in list.

5. Last but not least...Create a product that people absolutely need, then give it away for free. There is an infinite amount of products that people desire, and if you think of it like that, it makes it much easier to find something to start with.

Michael Jordan said, "I only succeed because I have failed so many times." Of course we only know Jordan of what he has succeeded with and hardly know of any of his failures.

My point is this...Once you create a product that can benefit someone, you can market that to your peers, and your peers will pitch it to their audience...all you have to ask for in return is their name and email address. Your op-in list will rocket... then, rinse and repeat. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

Managed Dedicated Servers And Corporate Collocation

by Jeff

With so many people launching their own websites for business and commercial purposes, there is this greater need to utilize managed web hosting services as opposed to shared hosting services. Make no mistake about it; there are many benefits to using shared hosting services. The number one benefit is of course, its affordability. Since there are multiple users sharing the cost of web server maintenance, prices can be offered at very, very low rates.

However, subscribing to managed hosting services is a worthwhile investment to online entrepreneurs and e-commerce minded business people. There are more benefits to using a single web hosting service.

What is managed web hosting in the first place?

This type of Internet hosting goes by a number of names, like: managed web hosting, managed dedicated servers, managed hosting, dedicated hosting services, and dedicated servers. In this type, web developers or website owners usually have full and exclusive control of the server(s) that they are utilizing. This means that they have a controlled pulse on the server hardware, software and operating system that is active in their website(s).

In some instances, web developers can even opt for server administration as well; and the server company can provide technical support on a regular basis.

What are the advantages of using this type of Internet hosting?

As stated earlier, there are more advantages to using this type of Internet hosting. A couple of which includes:

1. You can choose your own operating system and operating system support. You can either choose a Linux system (or other open source operating systems such as CentOS, Debian, Fedroa Core,) Microsoft Windows SPLA Server, and Red Hat Enterprise. Having the liberty to choose the application means you can avail of operating systems that you are most familiar with, which practically saves you time in regards to learning the ropes of a new system. Aside from that, you can also choose which OS would actually fit your budget best. If you are a bit tight with the buck, you can always go for OS that is open source technology based, because these are usually offered for free.

You can also have add-on services or support systems like: application patches, OS kernel upgrades, system extensive vulnerability resolutions, and even upgrading on the latest security fixes.

2. If you are particularly pressed for time, you can easily outsource the managerial duties for this Internet type of hosting. You can very easily hire a 3rd party service provider to do: backups and restoration; database administration; DDOS (distributed denial-of-service attack) protection and mitigation; disaster recovery; DNS hosting service; firewall services; intrusion detection; load balancing; monitoring duties in regards to the server; performance tuning; programming consultation; software installation and configuration; technical support; user management; and updates on the application, antivirus programs, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) hardware and the operating system itself.

3. Finally, since you are having exclusive control of the web server, you can use extreme security measures on your website(s.) This is particularly helpful to online based companies who rely on the gathering, storing and the encryption of large volumes of data. The Internet hosting company can very easily provide you anti-virus applications as well as scanning systems and firewall protection against possible hackers, spammers and worms.

Free Website Templates Guide

by Leroy Chan

You can have a professional looking website in a matter of minutes without having to pay a web designer hundreds to thousands of dollars in fees...

Free website templates sites are available everywhere on the web. They can be easily found by typing "free website templates" in popular search engines. You can preview hundreds to thousands of cool looking themes to match the type of product or service you provide.

Save Time and Money

Not only will you save in costs, but you will get your website completed much faster than if you had to build one from scratch. If you have some working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Photoshop, then using these free website templates should be a snap... If you are not familiar with these skills, then you can learn the basics from free online tutorials. It will only take you a little bit more time to build your site than someone who already has the experience.

This brief guide will introduce you to what you can do with these free website templates.

Getting Started

Before you do anything, you should read the rules that these sites have for using their templates. Usually, they will let you modify the templates and redistribute them if you give them credit as the original source... And you don't necessarily need to link back directly to their site.

They will allow you to remove their link from the templates. But, what they don't want you to do is repackage the templates and resell them. That's only a fair condition for using their templates if you consider that you didn't pay for them and they gave you something that would have costs your hundreds if not thousands of dollars in individual web designer fees.

High Quality Themes

Don't be fooled by the word "free." Many of these templates have a contemporary professional look... And the way that is achieved is with the high quality stock images or photos included. If you were to build these templates from scratch, normally you would find these images from sites that offer stock photos that may then make you pay royalties for using them.

Immediate Download

With some free website templates sites, you won't need to give your email address or register. They are not going to make you sign up to a newsletter and send you spam. You will be able to click a download link off their site and save a zipped file immediately to your hard drive.

Everything You Need

As an example, inside these zipped files you will find an index.htm file, a style.css file, a PSD file and an image folder containing images. Here's a breakdown of what these files are for:

1. Index.htm - This is the basic template which contains the HTML code. In this file you can add the links going to other pages within your site or links going outside. To keep the theme or design the same within your site, you'll have to copy this file, modify it and rename it for each of the different pages you want your site to have.

2. Style.css - This is the file that controls the look of your site. In this file, you can change the font type, color and size. You can also modify or add things such as background colors, borders, spacing, alignments, positioning and more.

3. PSD - This is the graphic file that you can modify. You can open up this file in Photoshop to customize it. For example, you can overlay text over a header image with the name of your website. Since many people are using these templates, it is a good idea to make your site unique by changing the elements a bit on the graphics provided.

4. Image folder - This folder contains the images related to the theme of the template you chose. Besides images of objects or people, it may include buttons, round corners, borders or spacers. Files are either in the .gif or .jpeg format.

Summing Up

If you are afraid of screwing up these templates, then there's always the option of hiring someone with the necessary skills and experience.

Now that you know where to easily find free website templates and what you can do with them, you'll soon be on your way to creating your own professional website giving your visitors the confidence to buy what you're selling.

Now That Was Interesting To Learn - Affiliate Marketing

by jaiprakash sharma

Those are the words you want readers of your articles to say when they've finished one of your pieces. When they feel that way about information elicited from your writing then you know a connection has formed. When you connect with your readership, a further relationship develops which leads to new sales opportunities for your affiliate business.

Why do people seek articles about a certain topic? They do so because they need information that fulfill their needs and wants. Think of that niche market you are catering too. They have specific needs and wants that are often very different from those of another niche.

You must write articles that answer questions and provide solutions to their unique information requirements. When your article gives useful information that shows you understand a particular niche's concerns they will continually seek you out. Why will they? They will because you become a reliable source of specialized information. You, with your article, are not a run-of-the-mill generic information provider. You are a provider of relevant and timely content that they put to use right away.

Think of what web consumers encounter when they research a product and what it does for them. They often encounter poorly written general articles that tell them things they already know. It's obvious that much of the content they read is merely advertorials disguised as informative content. Shortly after they start reading, they realize they are not receiving what they came for. They are not receiving information that interests them. They are not receiving information that provides solutions to their needs and wants. They are receiving a thinly veiled sales letter that does not speak to their concerns, only their pocketbook.

This is where you, the astute affiliate marketer, are different. This is where your articles are unique and help generate traffic flow back to your website. That uniqueness in your articles will be in the form of entertaining, interesting content that is usable. You want your reader to read your article and go "aha"; you want that "aha" to lead to decisive action. That decisive action has to be a clickback to learn more about you on your website.

Your website is where you explain your affiliate product and garner sales. However, all the things you do before they get to your website are what will earn you the sale.

"Earn" is the operative word here. You "earn" your sales through hard work in the form of an intelligent article that gives something back to your reader. Remember, people have many demands on their time today. A reader who sits to read one of your articles does not want to invest time and receive boring content of no value. They can put on a reality TV program and get that without moving their butt off the couch.

When they decide to do web research or read a newsletter that contains one of your articles they want something. You had better give it to them because your name is at stake. So is traffic flow to that website you have money and time invested in.

Interesting article content presented in an organized fashion helps a reader. It helps them formulate solutions to their problems. It helps them understand something better. With increased understanding, an article reader will want to move onto the next step in their information-gathering process. This next step may be a search for more information. They received great information that answered their questions from your article. They see a link back to your website. Where do you think they're going to go for more information?

It's easy for them to click back to you because they trust you as being "in the know". They don't have to spend time searching other internet portals for information. When you get them back to your website, you can extol the virtues of your affiliate product. They are likely to listen because of the connection made through your interesting article.

That's what effective article writing is all about. That's what effective support work for your affiliate marketing program is all about. That's what pre-selling to gain new customers is all about too. Write those interesting and informative articles that show you as an authority in your field. When you do, you're internet playground becomes your field of dreams.

A Beginner's Checklist to Promoting an Online Business

by the silver team

The Internet's full of hyped-up promises of the 'ultimate' marketing secret that will single handedly skyrocket your business to instant success.

Naturally, this is ALL it is: hype. There's no single 'secret' that will magically transform a fledgling business into a powerful money-maker. Instead, every business owner is responsible for testing and refining various techniques until he or she has developed a solid, effective base that produces the desired results.

What works for one business may not work for another! Likewise, another business may have poor results with one method, while others experience great success. Here's a quick checklist of some of the more popular -- and completely free -- marketing techniques to help you build your online business (note: this is a 3-part series).

PART 1: FREE ONLINE MARKETING TECHNIQUES

1. Build and use your own opt-in list of targeted and interested prospects. Offer a free newsletter that provides fresh, interesting, and relevant content. You'll receive feedback from your readers about what's important to them, and over time they'll come to know and trust you. Your products, services, and even recommendations will then be taken much more seriously because you've developed credibility with your readers.

2. Contribute to newsgroups or discussion boards. Establish yourself as a helpful member of a community. Other members of the community who come to know and respect you will often refer you to others.

3. Niche directories or search engines. Find all the highly-targeted directories and SEs for your market, and then work to get listed. You'll be surprised at how many niche sites there are! Good places to start looking are http://yahoo.com/ and http://www.dmoz.com/ .

4. Build your link popularity. For example, you can trade links with other businesses in your market so that you can 'share' each other's traffic. Most of the major search engines take link popularity into consideration when ranking your site.

5. Endorsed mailings to other lists. Find the editor of a great newsletter, and offer your product or service to him for free in return for a review or an endorsed ad to his list. Endorsements from the editor can far outperform regular 'ads', since they come from someone they know and trust (the editor).

6. Testimonials. It's fine for you to say that your product or service is wonderful... but there's far more 'punch' when someone else says it! Testimonials show prospects that you have happy customers and helps them to make the decision to buy.

7. Use autoresponders to follow-up with your prospects. It has been proven time and time again that autoresponders can dramatically increase your profits! They're also great time-savers, saving you from following up with each prospect manually.

8. Ad swaps. You can get extra exposure for 'free' (no out-of-pocket expenses) by swapping ad space with another editor that caters to your audience. Plus it's a great way to put 'remnant' ad space to good use.

9. Join a webring. Link to other sites like yours and build an online 'community.'

10. Offer coupons or gift certificates to entice visitors to make a purchase *now*.

11. Make good use of referral marketing. Ask happy customers to refer prospects to you. Many people are so busy these days that they're willing to rely on a trusted friend or contact's advice -- it saves them the time necessary to do all the research themselves.

12. Write and distribute articles in your area of expertise. This is a great credibility-builder! People who appreciate what you have to say are much more likely to check out your business. Another 'bonus' is that articles are often archived on websites for visitors to refer to time and time again.

13. Become an 'expert'. If you like to write and have the time to do so, consider partnering with a high-traffic site within your niche market and offer to write a regular column or article. You establish credibility and get exposure; your partner site and their readers get great content.

14. Use a 'Recommend-It' or 'Refer-A-Friend' script. These scripts let visitors send your URL to friends.

15. Make it easy for others to link to your site. Consider adding a 'Link to Us' section where you provide the HTML that visitors can simply cut and paste to their own web pages. Again, this helps to build your link popularity (see point #4).

16. Hold contests. For example, every month you could give away one of your products to a lucky subscriber or customer.

17. Use a signature. Also known as 'sig files', a signature is a brief blurb about your business along with your URL and/or contact information. Put a signature on every piece of email you send out, as well as on any message board posts (if appropriate).

Hopefully this has given you a few helpful ideas on how to market your online business.
